There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how Jeffrey works.

That said, in Jeffrey's experience as a real estate agent, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.

 

The "Client First" philosophy has been my guiding principle and it requires me to continually improve my skills and knowledge in this business. I also firmly believe that only by treating our clients as our friends, then are we able to fully understand their needs and work hand in hand with them to achieve their goals and aspirations.

 

Real estate is never about bricks and cement, it's really about people.

Question: Have you encountered any challenging cases?

Jeffrey: An elderly couple sold their flat through us but just one day before the first appointment with HDB, the wife slipped into a coma and could not turn up for the appointment. The first appointment had to be postponed. It was extremely stressful for the sellers and buyers, but as agents, we had to cushion the stress that our clients had to go through. I tried my best to comfort and reassure the buyer, and at the same time liaise with HDB.

Luckily, after two months and after much work, we could proceed with the sale and everything went smoothly. The sigh of relief from the sellers and the smiles on the buyers' face was indeed priceless. It is really important to make these transactions a stress-free one for our clients.

Question: Have you encountered any challenging cases?

Elaine: Not exactly challenging but definitely stressful for buyers or sellers if they aren't represented professionally. And here is just one of the many.

We were representing a young couple who was buying their new home. During the resale transaction, there were so many hiccups ranging from an uncooperative sellers' agent, HDB officer couldn't reach sellers or their agent for urgent matters and if unresolved, the transaction cannot be completed. The flat was not vacant during the final inspection just one day before completion and many more issues.

 

While all these were happening, our buyers did not even have the slightest idea and were happily preparing for their wedding. They knew about all the happenings after they have happily collected the key to their new home.


What we did was to cushion and absorb all the stress in the whole transaction so that they can fully focus on their wedding preparations. We have always believed that every real estate transaction should be a happy one and should definitely remain that way. And we make sure we are there to make it happen.
